ControlBoard and Samsara
ControlBoard® reads engine hours, odometer, position, engine state and fuel from Samsara for the vehicles and
machines you already keep in ControlBoard. Samsara stays the record of your fleet; the connection only reads
and never changes a machine. Positions show on the jobs map, engine hours show which rentals sit idle, and a machine booked on
a job but parked somewhere else, or silent for too long, gets a warning before anyone drives out to look.

Common questions
Does Samsara add machines to ControlBoard?
No. A Samsara vehicle or machine only links to equipment you already have, or is ignored. Your equipment list stays yours.
How does ControlBoard know a machine is in the wrong place?
A machine booked on a job and farther than the distance you set from its site gets an away-from-job warning on the map and the equipment screen.
What do engine hours tell us?
They come in once a day per machine. With live GPS, the equipment screen counts idle days on rented machines by engine hours and shows how many machines are at their job, near it or away.
