A payroll file for any payroll service
ControlBoard® sends approved time to payroll as a plain file any payroll service or accountant can read: one
line per person, day, job, cost code and pay type. Your payroll service stays the system of record for pay.
Only approved weeks go, anyone left out is named, and a sent week is locked so hours are not paid twice. Time
approved after the file went goes in a supplemental file for just those people, so payroll never retypes a
timecard.
What flows where
Your system keeps the money. ControlBoard runs the work.

Common questions
Which payroll services does the file work with?
Any that imports a spreadsheet or CSV file. Paychex Flex has its own layout; for other services, the plain file carries every column payroll needs.
Can we see who was left out of a batch?
Yes. Anyone whose week is not approved is left out and named in a warning, so nobody is missed by accident.
What if a week was wrong after it was sent?
Accounting reclaims the week with a reason, fixes it and approves it again, then sends a supplemental batch.
