ControlBoard and Paychex Flex
ControlBoard® turns each approved pay week into a file Paychex Flex imports as it is: one line per worker, day
and pay component, with the job, the cost code and the hours or units. Paychex stays the system of record for
pay, taxes and deductions; ControlBoard never cuts a check. Only approved weeks go, anyone not yet approved is
named and left out, and a sent week is locked so the same hours are not paid twice.
What flows where
Your system keeps the money. ControlBoard runs the work.

Common questions
What happens to time approved after the file went?
The week is reopened, fixed and approved again, and a supplemental file carries only the people who changed.
Do per diem and other units go in the file?
Yes. Hours go as hours and per diem or other units as units, each under its pay component.
Is unpaid billable time kept out of payroll?
Yes. A pay type marked unpaid never reaches the payroll file, even when the same trip is billed to the customer.
