ControlBoard and HCSS HeavyBid

ControlBoard® imports the estimate you built in HCSS HeavyBid, so the bid becomes the job’s budget and its resource needs without retyping. HeavyBid’s Detail Cost Report comes in as the job’s bid, at the estimator’s own grain. Your rules propose a cost code and an activity for each line, a person confirms the mapping, and ControlBoard builds the budget and the needs the schedule fills. HeavyBid stays the estimate of record.

What flows where

Your system keeps the money. ControlBoard runs the work.

Once per job and scope, when the bid is awarded; a new export replaces the bid in place.

HCSS HeavyBid

The estimate, its pricing, its resources and its revisions.

Into ControlBoard
  • Bid items and bid lines from the Detail Cost Report
  • Activities, resources, hours and cost per line

ControlBoard®

Schedules the labor and equipment, tells the field, collects the hours and keeps job cost and the forecast live.

Getting connected

  1. Export the Detail Cost Report from HeavyBid.

  2. Import it on the job.

  3. Confirm the proposed mapping of bid lines to cost codes and activities.

  4. Keep the mapping as rules, so the next bid maps itself.

Common questions

Does the import change the estimate?
No. The bid is read-only once imported. Only the mapping and what it builds are edited in ControlBoard.
Do we have to map every line by hand?
No. Rules saved from a bid you mapped once propose the mapping for the next one. A person still confirms it, and nothing is built while a line is unmapped.
Are change orders kept apart?
Yes. A change order comes in under its own scope, so its budget and its cost stay apart from the base contract.
