Utility crews, rigs and cards on one board

ControlBoard® schedules a utility contractor’s crews, rigs, trucks and subcontractors across many spread-out jobs on one board, and checks each person’s certifications against what the job needs. The schedule and every change reach the crews on ControlBoard Field, by text or by email, and replies come back to the job’s thread. Foremen fill tailboards, permits and daily logs on the phone, punches carry their location, and approved hours leave as a payroll file. Jobs and people come in from the accounting system you already own.

Sound familiar?

Twenty crews in three counties, and the board is a phone tree.

A crew shows up and the one person with the card is on another job.

The tailboard was signed on paper, and the paper is in a truck.

Hours come in on Monday from texts, photos and memory.

A day on ControlBoard

The day, from the yard to the pay week

6:00 AM

Every crew knows its job

Each crew gets its job, start time and directions on the phone or by text. A change at 6:15 reaches the same people the same way, and replies land in the job’s thread.

A job's field channel: the office's message and a field worker's text reply on one thread

7:00 AM

Tailboard before the work

The foreman fills the day’s tailboard or permit on the phone, picking tasks, hazards and controls from the company’s library fresh each time. It files on the job as answers or a signed PDF.

A Job Safety Analysis form being built: questions, carried-forward answers and a scope checklist

Noon

Cards and compliance

With the Equipment and compliance module, the office sees licences and certificates about to lapse and jobs where someone scheduled lacks a card the job needs, ranked by what needs action first.

Service plans by calendar or engine hours, for each kind of equipment

Friday

Time the office can trust

Punches carry their location and a reason when they are away from the job. The office reviews them, approves each week and sends the payroll file, without retyping a single hour.

Common questions

Can ControlBoard keep crews spread over many jobs informed?
Yes. Every person gets the schedule the way their preferences say: in ControlBoard Field, by text or by email. A change goes out to everyone affected at once, and if one way fails the others still go. Replies are filed in the job’s thread, so the office sees the conversation beside the schedule rather than in a dozen phones.
Does ControlBoard track certifications for utility crews?
Yes, with the Equipment and compliance module. Licences, certificates and inspections are kept on each person, crew, machine and subcontractor, with expiry dates and proof. A compliance queue lists what has lapsed or will soon, and flags jobs where someone scheduled lacks a qualification the job needs, so it is fixed before the crew arrives.
How do punch location rules work?
When a worker punches in or out, the phone reads the location once, never in between. A punch away from the job asks for a short reason, unless the company only allows punches at the place. A weak signal or no location never stops a punch. The office reviews flagged punches in one place before the week is approved.
