Effective October 26, 2026
This policy explains what the ControlBoard Field app collects, why, and who sees it. The app is made by Congistics Inc. (“Congistics”, “we”) for companies that use ControlBoard (“your employer”) and the people who work for them. It describes our practices; the agreement between Congistics and your employer governs the service.
Who is responsible for your information
Your employer sets up your account and decides what ControlBoard keeps about your work. There is no sign-up in the app: your employer creates your account and removes it. Congistics runs ControlBoard for your employer and uses your information only on your employer’s instructions, never for our own purposes. Your employer decides how it uses ControlBoard Field and is responsible for telling you about that use and for any notice or consent the law requires. Questions about your work records, such as your hours or schedule, are best answered by your employer; questions about the app or this policy can come to us.
What the app collects
- Account details: your name, login, role, language and, if your employer uses two-step sign-in, the phone number codes are texted to. If your employer signs you in with Microsoft, Microsoft handles that sign-in.
- Your work: time entries and punches, schedules and crews, day sign-offs (including a signature you draw, which is stored as an image and is not biometric data), time-off requests, production quantities, tool requests and scans, PM items, and messages you send and receive.
- Location, only while you punch: when you punch in or out, or try to, the app reads the phone’s location for a few seconds so your employer can check the punch against the job site. It sends the position, how accurate the reading was, and whether the phone reported a simulated location. Punch attempts are recorded even when the punch is refused. The app does not read your location in the background or between punches.
- Camera, photos, videos and microphone: only when you choose to take or attach a photo or video (the microphone records a video’s sound) or scan a tool tag. A scan reads the tag; it is not saved as a picture. A photo or video you choose from your library may carry details your phone recorded when it was taken, such as where it was taken.
- Notifications: if you allow them, the app sets time reminders on your phone and registers a notification address for your device so ControlBoard can reach you.
- On your phone: your sign-in is kept in the phone’s secure storage, and work you enter offline waits on the phone until it can be sent.
The app has no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
How it is used
Only to run ControlBoard for your employer: recording time and paying for it, scheduling, messaging, tool tracking, reminders, keeping the service secure, and answering support requests. Information collected for one purpose is not used for another.
Who sees it
- Your employer: the people your employer allows, such as your foreman, managers, payroll and administrators.
- Companies that help us run the service, under contract, each only for the purpose named here and each bound to protect your information as this policy does:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, the database, and storage of photos and files.
- Expo — delivery of notifications to your phone. It receives your device’s notification address and the text of each notification.
- Apple and Google — notifications on their phones, and the app stores.
- Twilio — the text messages that carry two-step sign-in codes.
- Microsoft — your sign-in, if your employer uses Microsoft sign-in.
- Others, only when the law requires it or to protect people or the service.
Your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you work outside the United States, it is transferred there.
How long it is kept
Your work records, including punch locations, are kept with your employer’s ControlBoard records for as long as your employer keeps them. Signing out of the app removes your sign-in from the phone and deletes work that was not yet sent.
Your choices
- You can turn off location, camera, photos, microphone and notifications in your phone’s settings. Some features, such as punching where your employer requires a location, may not work without them.
- Uninstalling the app removes it and what it stored from your phone.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
Ask your employer’s ControlBoard administrator, or email support@congistics.com with the subject “Privacy request” and the name of your employer. To have your account and its data deleted, ask the same way. We work with your employer to answer, and may need to confirm who you are. Your employer may have to keep some records, such as payroll records, for as long as the law requires.
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under California law to know, correct and delete personal information. You exercise them through your employer, and we help your employer respond.
Security
The app talks to ControlBoard over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access is limited to the people and services that need it. No system is perfectly secure, so tell us right away at support@congistics.com if you think your account has been misused.
Children
ControlBoard Field is a workplace app and is not meant for children under 13.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update it on this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or through your employer.
