Frequently Asked Questions
How much does ControlBoard cost?
ControlBoard uses a simple subscription model based on how people use the system.
Schedulers—the people managing crews, equipment, and jobs—typically cost about $105 per user per month
Field users are much less expensive. Employees who simply receive assignments through the mobile app are typically about $40 per year, while users who also submit time through the system are about $150 per year.
This pricing model allows companies to give access to large field teams without significantly increasing costs.

Is ControlBoard easy to use?
Schedulers usually find ControlBoard familiar right away. It works much like the whiteboard or magnet board many companies already use. Most teams are scheduling and dispatching resource via SMS and email within about half an hour.
For the field, ControlBoard provides a mobile app that tells employees where they need to be and when. It includes driving directions, access to project notes and documents, and allows workers to upload photos and updates from the job site.
While the basic scheduling workflow is simple, ControlBoard also includes deeper capabilities for growing companies, including labor forecasting, planning tools, performance management, timekeeping, and integrations with ERP and payroll systems.
We provide unlimited personal support to help you get up and running quickly and get the most out of the product over time.
How I get data into and out of ControlBoard?
ControlBoard® offers multiple ways to import and export your data. You can import existing schedules and project data, and export reports and information as needed. Our support team can help you set up data migration and establish workflows that work with your existing systems. Contact us for specific integration requirements.
For ongoing use, most data in ControlBoard can be imported or exported using spreadsheets. Many companies also automate the flow of operational data between systems. For example, employee information may come from an ERP or accounting system, allowing ControlBoard to stay aligned with the company’s single source of truth for personnel.
ControlBoard also supports deeper integrations with other operational systems. Customers commonly connect ControlBoard with ERP platforms, fleet tracking systems, accounting and payroll systems, and reporting or productivity tools. For organizations that centralize operational data, ControlBoard can also feed data into a data warehouse.
Finally, every part of ControlBoard is accessible through an API, allowing external systems to read and write data programmatically. This supports traditional system integrations as well as newer automation workflows, including agentic interactions with the platform.

How is ControlBoard different from other scheduling software?
ControlBoard is built specifically for construction companies that must coordinate resources, equipment, and projects across many active jobs at once.
It is especially strong at crew scheduling in dynamic environments, where weather, site conditions, inspections, and shifting priorities require schedules to change frequently. Schedulers can quickly reassign crews and equipment while keeping the field informed through built-in dispatching and mobile access.
ControlBoard also helps companies plan ahead and improve operations over time. Teams use the system to forecast labor and equipment needs, track performance, and compare planned work with actual results to improve future projects.
Unlike most scheduling tools, ControlBoard was designed from the beginning as an API-first system. This makes it easy to integrate with ERP, payroll, fleet tracking, reporting systems, and modern automation or AI workflows
We are a large company with multiple divisions, is ControlBoard for us?
Yes. ControlBoard easily scales to meet the needs of multi-division construction companies. ControlBoard gives leadership enterprise-wide visibility while each division continues to run its own operations. Companies can authenticate users through systems like Active Directory, while permissions and roles are managed inside ControlBoard.
I'm a residential home builder, is ControlBoard right for me?
It depends on how you schedule work. ControlBoard is designed for companies that schedule crews, equipment, or other resources to jobs on specific days.
If your schedules look like:"Crane 3 to Jobsite 12 at 7am on Tuesday”"Crew A to Project B every day next week but Wednesday”then ControlBoard is likely a strong fit.
Many residential builders instead schedule task sequences, such as:“Plumbing must finish before electrical begins.”
If you primarily think of schedules that way, Gantt chart or CPM based tools might be a better choice.
If you're unsure which model fits your operation, contact our team.and we’ll help you decide. See also: Why event-based scheduling doesn't work for growing construction companies.
What other sorts of companies is ControlBoard good for?
ControlBoard works well anywhere people, vehicles, or equipment must be scheduled and dispatched to different locations over the coming days, weeks, or months. In addition to civil construction companies, ControlBoard is also used by:
- Event production companies scheduling crews and equipment for event setup and teardown
- Field service companies working in mechanicals (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), telecom, painting, environmental remediation and similar industries.
In all of these cases, the core challenge is the same: assigning the right resource to the right place at the right time.
