Time and payroll

How does ControlBoard® set up time sheets and pay rules for my company?

ControlBoard fits time sheets to the way your company already works. Name the sections of a crew’s sheet for people, equipment, material or subcontractors, set default start and stop times, and use your crews’ own words for the columns. Decide how each kind of absence is paid, or record it unpaid. Choose the day the pay week starts, add holidays, and set the hour columns such as regular and overtime. Foremen can keep their own day apart from the crew’s sheet. Punch rules, overtime and drive time come from named policies, and a period close fixes costs through a date.

Common questions

Can ControlBoard pay absences differently by reason?
Yes. Each absence reason pays as a pay type you choose, or records the day and pays nothing. Unpaid absences are coded to a pay type for zero-hour days, so the record stays complete. A reason not yet decided puts nothing on the time sheet.
Can the pay week start on Sunday?
Yes. The pay week starts on Monday or Sunday, as your payroll runs. Holidays are kept on one company list and can be loaded from a spreadsheet, and the hour columns on a time sheet, such as regular and overtime, follow your pay types.
Can a foreman keep their own hours apart from the crew?
Yes. With that choice on, a foreman, supervisor or timekeeper signs off their own day separately on ControlBoard Field, and their row on the crew’s sheet is read-only. Without it, they enter their own hours as one more row and submit them with the crew.
