Time and payroll

How do supervisors enter time for a whole job in ControlBoard®?

ControlBoard lets supervisors and timekeepers enter hours for everyone working a job, not only their own crew, in a browser or on ControlBoard Field. The people scheduled on the job that day are already listed, so the supervisor adds only those who were not planned. Hours can be entered by day or across the week. The job-day’s log, with work performed, quantities, weather, incidents, delays and photos, sits beside the hours and goes in with them. A submitted day can be taken back until the office reviews it, and then the office approves each person’s week.

What you can do with it

  • Enter a whole job's hours in a browser or on the phone
  • Write the job-day's log
  • Submit the day

Used by: field workers, managers

Common questions

Can a superintendent enter time from a laptop instead of a phone?
Yes. Supervisors and timekeepers can enter a job’s hours in a browser or on ControlBoard Field. In the browser, the people scheduled that day are already listed, and the view can switch from one day to a whole week with a column per day.
Does the daily log go in with the hours?
Yes. The job-day’s log is written in the supervisor’s name beside the hours, with work performed, quantities, weather, incidents, delays and photos. Submitting the day sends the hours and the log together, so the office reads them side by side.
Who can a supervisor enter time for?
A supervisor or timekeeper enters time for the jobs and people in their scope, which an administrator or manager sets. On the phone their sheet opens on everyone in their scope scheduled that day, grouped by job.
