Time and payroll

How does ControlBoard® keep an audit trail for every line of time?

ControlBoard keeps every line of time with who entered it, who changed it and where it came from, including where each punch was taken. The office can check a line, fill in what is missing or add time by hand. Lines that arrive incomplete, such as a missing receipt or a required detail, are flagged until someone fixes them. Locked time opens read-only, and only accounting or an administrator can unlock it, with the change recorded in their name. A voided line stops counting toward pay and cost but stays on the record, so the history is always complete.

What you can do with it

  • Find and fix any line of time
  • See who entered or changed a line
  • Check where a punch was taken

Used by: accounting, administrators, managers

Common questions

Can I see who changed a timecard?
Yes. Every line of time shows who entered it, who changed it and how it got there, and each line has a full change history. Locked lines can be edited only by accounting or an administrator, and the change is recorded in their name.
Can ControlBoard show where a punch was taken?
Yes. Each punched line shows its distance from the job or yard, so the office can spot a punch taken far from the work. A drive line built from two punches says so, and it can be corrected or voided if the drive was not real.
What is the difference between voiding and deleting time?
A voided line stops counting toward pay and cost but stays on the record with a reason. Deleting is only for a line that should never have existed; it cannot be undone and leaves no history. Voiding is the safe choice for most corrections.
