Scheduling
How do I schedule people and equipment on a job in ControlBoard®?
The ControlBoard job scheduler shows a row for each job and a column for each day, so you plan from the work. Drag a
person or a machine onto a job’s day to schedule them, or onto a need to fill it. A day already scheduled somewhere
else shows as a conflict straight away. When a job needs work no one is scheduled on yet, drop a type such as
electrician or excavator to create a need that waits until someone fills it. Moves keep their length, and undo takes
back the last change. The same assignments show on the resource schedule.
What you can do with it
- Book people and equipment on a job
- Fill a job's needs
- Change, stretch or remove a booking

Common questions
Can I fill a need by dragging a person onto it?
Yes. Drag a person or machine onto the need on the job’s row and it is filled for that day. You can choose to fill
every day of the need from one drop instead, which saves time on a need that runs all week.
Does ControlBoard warn me when someone is scheduled twice?
Yes. A day already scheduled on another job is marked as a conflict as soon as you drop it, so you see the clash
before the crew does. The resource schedule also counts, for each person and machine, the days scheduled twice.
Can I undo a scheduling change?
Yes. Undo takes back your last change, whether you moved, stretched, added or removed an assignment. Moving an
assignment to another day or job keeps its length, so a slip of a few days takes one drag rather than a rebuild.
