Time and payroll

How does ControlBoard® let field workers punch in and out on the phone?

With ControlBoard Field, workers punch in on the job they are at and punch out when they leave, from their own phone. Moving to the next job is one punch out and one punch in. Location is read only at the punch, never in between, and a weak signal never stops a punch. A worker away from the site says why, or your company can require punches at the site. A forgotten punch can be added later with a note, and the office reviews every typed time. At the end of the day each worker confirms their hours, their breaks and whether they were hurt, then signs.

Common questions

Does ControlBoard track workers' location all day?
No. ControlBoard Field reads the phone’s location only at the moment of a punch in or punch out, never in between. Workers see your company’s location notice the first time. A punch with no location is still taken, and the office sees why there was none.
What if a worker forgets to punch in?
The worker adds the start or stop time later from the phone and says what happened. Every typed time goes to the office for review, so the record shows both the hours and how they were entered. A punched day that needs fixing goes to the office with a note.
Can workers report an injury when they finish the day?
Yes. When a worker signs off the day, ControlBoard Field asks whether their hours are right, whether they took their breaks and whether they were hurt. A yes to being hurt asks what happened and tells their supervisor at once.
