Dispatch and the field

What can field workers do in the ControlBoard® Field phone app?

ControlBoard Field puts the schedule, hours, expenses, time off, messages and tools on every worker’s phone. Workers see the jobs they are scheduled on, punch in and out or type their hours, and sign off their day. Foremen keep their crew’s time and daily log, with photos, notes and quantities, from the jobsite. Work saved with no signal stays on the phone and goes once the phone is back online. Sign-in lasts 30 days and supports two-step codes and Microsoft accounts. Location is read only at a punch, and a punch is never refused for lack of location.

Common questions

Does ControlBoard Field work without a signal?
Yes. Hours, punches, photos and notes saved without a signal stay on the phone and are sent once it is back online. Each photo goes on its own as soon as it can. A crew sheet the phone has opened once with a signal can be filled in offline after that.
Can a foreman keep crew time on the phone?
Yes. Foremen, supervisors and timekeepers type each person’s hours for the day or the week, add equipment and material lines, and mark people absent. They submit the day with its daily log, photos and quantities, and can take it back until the office has reviewed it.
Can ControlBoard Field be used on a shared phone?
Yes. Signing out clears the phone for the next person, and the app warns before deleting anything not yet sent. Sign-in can ask for a two-step code from an authenticator app or a text, and companies that use Microsoft accounts can sign in with them.
