Time and payroll
How does ControlBoard® help the office close out a week of field time?
ControlBoard gives the office one order of work for the end of the week: accept the daily logs, approve each person’s
week, then send the payroll file. Days the field has not signed off are flagged but never block the office. Accepting
a log signs off the record of a job’s day without holding up pay. Only approved weeks go into the payroll file, and
anyone left out is named, so nobody is forgotten. Once the file is sent, those weeks lock. A late correction goes out
as a supplemental batch for just the people affected.

Common questions
Does ControlBoard approve time one person at a time?
Yes, on purpose. The office opens each person’s week, checks the hours by day and approves it. There is no
approve-all, so every week gets a look before it reaches payroll. A week that needs fixing goes back to the field
with a reason and is approved again afterwards.
What happens to time after the payroll file is sent?
Sent weeks are locked, so the hours payroll used cannot change underneath it. If a correction is needed,
accounting reopens just those weeks with a reason and sends them as a supplemental batch for the people affected,
leaving everyone else’s pay untouched.
Do daily logs have to be accepted before payroll?
No. Accepting a daily log signs off the record of the job’s day, with its notes and quantities. It never locks
hours or holds up payroll, so the office can approve time on schedule and finish reviewing logs when it has a
moment.
