Scheduling

How does ControlBoard® manage the company's pick lists?

ControlBoard keeps the company’s pick lists in one place: units of measure, cost units, document types, standard items, cost types, job statuses, job types and booking statuses. Administrators and managers name values in the company’s own words and set defaults, colors and sort order. Each status also says what it means to the system, such as whether a job status counts as open or completed. A company with subsidiaries can let each one keep its own values beside the company’s, and no name appears twice. Values in use are turned off, not deleted, and lists load from a spreadsheet.

What you can do with it

Common questions

Can we use our own job statuses?
Yes. Job statuses are your company’s own words, such as awarded or punch list. Each one says whether it counts as open, completed or cancelled, so ControlBoard knows when a job’s plan should freeze. A subsidiary with its own statuses can have its own default.
Can subsidiaries keep their own pick lists?
Yes, for document types, stop purposes, job statuses and job types, when the company allows it. Units, cost units, cost types, standard items and booking statuses stay company-wide. A manager adds values for their own subsidiary and sees the company’s read-only.
Can we control who sees each document type?
Yes. A document type can say which records it is for and who may see it. It can also let a person read those documents on their own record, such as their own certificates.
