Labor planning

How does ControlBoard® show whether we have the people for the work ahead?

ControlBoard’s labor plan shows whether the company has the people for the work ahead, by job or by trade. It reads every job’s labor forecast, the schedule, time cards and the people you have, and sets forecast work against capacity in hours, people or crews. One verdict line says how much of the work can be staffed, the worst week, the short weeks and whom to hire. Bids count at their planning weight, with the rest shown if every bid is won. Plan health names the jobs behind a shortage, the idle bench and moves that would help, which you can try as drafts.

Common questions

Can ControlBoard tell us when to hire?
Yes. Plan health lists where the company is short, by trade and week, and when a shortage lasts long enough to hire for. It also lists idle people with no forecast work, so you can redeploy before hiring.
How do bids we have not won count in the labor plan?
Each job carries a planning weight, so a bid at 40% counts 40% of its forecast. The lighter part of each bar shows the rest if every bid is won. This shows the likely load and the worst case together.
Can we compare each trade's need against the people we have?
Yes. The by-trade view reads each cell as people needed against people you have, such as 7 of 5, and marks short cells red. Click a cell to see the jobs behind that period, or compare scheduled work instead of the forecast.
