Scheduling
How do we load our existing data into ControlBoard®?
ControlBoard loads your lists from a spreadsheet: people, equipment, jobs, cost codes, staffing needs and more. Start
from an empty starter workbook or a filled-in example, fill it in, and upload it. Nothing is saved until you have read
the counts and any errors, and rows with errors are left out while the rest apply. Lists you already loaded export in
the same shape, so updates go back in without retyping, and a blank cell means leave it unchanged. Recent imports are
kept with their counts and errors, so you always know what went in.
What you can do with it
- Start from a ready-made workbook
- Load and update your existing lists
- Check past imports

Common questions
Can we bring our people, equipment and jobs in from spreadsheets?
Yes. ControlBoard’s starter workbook takes people, equipment, jobs, cost codes, staffing needs and other lists in
one file. It can create missing resource types, cost codes and customer companies as it goes, so a first load does
not stall on a missing list value.
What happens if some rows in the import have errors?
ControlBoard shows the counts and errors before anything is saved, and a CSV of the errors is available to fix.
When you apply the import, rows with errors are left out and the rest go in. You can fix those cells and upload
again.
Can we update records in bulk after the first import?
Yes. Each list exports for import with your current rows. Change the spreadsheet and load it back; rows match on
their code and list values by name. A blank cell means leave unchanged, so a blank amount never becomes zero.
