Forms and daily logs
How does ControlBoard® keep a hazard library for JSAs and daily briefings?
ControlBoard keeps one company library of the tasks your crews do, the hazards each carries and the controls that
answer them, with a risk rating before and after controls. The JSA and the daily briefing pick from it, so crews
choose from your company’s own hazards and controls instead of writing them from memory. Both ask for tasks, hazards
and controls fresh every time, so the briefing reflects the day’s work, not yesterday’s. Tasks group by work area,
such as office, shop or field. Your existing hazard register loads from a spreadsheet, and loading it again updates
rows without duplicates.
What you can do with it
- Keep tasks, hazards and controls for JSAs and briefings
- Rate each task's risk
- Import your own register

Common questions
Does ControlBoard rate the risk of each task?
Yes. Each task is rated for likelihood and consequence, 1 to 5 each, before and after controls. The rating is
likelihood times consequence and reads Low, Medium, High or Critical, unless your company sets other thresholds. A
task can also carry its reference and an improvement plan.
Can we import our existing hazard register?
Yes. ControlBoard offers a template, or an export of the library you have, to fill in. Import the file, and
importing the same file again updates rows instead of making duplicates, so the register can be kept in a
spreadsheet if you prefer.
What happens to a hazard we no longer use?
Nothing is deleted. A retired hazard, task or control stops being offered on new forms, while filed forms keep it.
A job that already picked it shows it as no longer in the library, so the safety record stays complete.
