Time and payroll

How do foremen and timekeepers enter crew hours in ControlBoard® from a browser?

ControlBoard’s field time sheet lets foremen, timekeepers and field clerks enter a crew’s hours in a browser, by day or for the whole week. Jobs the crew is scheduled on come first, so the sheet starts from the plan instead of a blank page. Start and stop times fill hours for everyone at once, and hours copy across people and days. Absences are kept as absences, not as missing time. The day’s log sits beside the grid, and a submitted day sends hours and log to the office together. A day can be taken back until the office reviews it.

What you can do with it

  • Enter a crew's hours for the day in a browser
  • Copy hours across rows and days
  • Submit the day, or take it back

Common questions

Can a timekeeper copy hours across the crew?
Yes. In ControlBoard one start and stop time can fill a whole section, and a person’s hours copy to other rows on a day or to other days of the week. Typed start and stop times fill the hours, and hours can never exceed that span.
Does the crew sheet know which jobs the crew is on?
Yes. Jobs the crew is scheduled on that day come first, then jobs with time already saved. Any other job the person may enter time for can be added, with the crew at zero hours, so off-plan work is still recorded where it happened.
Can a submitted day be corrected?
Yes, until the office reviews or approves it. The foreman takes the day back, changes the hours or the log, and submits it again. After review, the office returns the day so it can be fixed, and the corrected day goes through review again.
