Equipment and compliance
How does ControlBoard® show where our equipment is and what it costs?
ControlBoard gives the equipment manager one place to see how the fleet and its rentals stand. Rentals due back in the
next two weeks or already overdue are listed, and with the Equipment & compliance licence, rentals costing money while
idle are called out. Where each machine is comes from live GPS when machines report their own position, or from the
schedule and recorded moves when they do not. Machines booked on a job today but more than a set distance from its
site are flagged, with how far away they are. When GPS shows a machine has moved, the office confirms it in a click.
What you can do with it
- See where every machine is
- Follow machines with GPS
- Work with rented equipment

Common questions
Does ControlBoard work with equipment GPS?
Yes. When machines report their own position, ControlBoard shows them on a live map and flags any booked on a job
today but away from its site. With live GPS, idle days on rentals count by engine hours. Without GPS, positions
come from the schedule and recorded moves.
Can we see which machines are not where they should be?
Yes. ControlBoard flags a machine booked on a job today whose GPS puts it beyond a set distance from every site it
is booked on, one mile unless an administrator changes it. Machines on a trailer or outside their booked hours are
not judged, which keeps false alarms down.
Can we see rentals that are overdue for return?
Yes. ControlBoard lists every rental due back within two weeks or already past its expected off-rent date, marked
overdue. Rentals are marked on or off rent and charged from the same place, so returns are handled before they
cost another week.
