Equipment and compliance
How does ControlBoard® track rented equipment and what it costs?
ControlBoard keeps every piece of equipment and reusable stock you rent in from vendors on one list, with its hire
rate, delivery and pickup fees, job and dates. Hire cost builds up from the agreement day by day, so the job sees what
a rental costs without anyone posting it. Rentals past their off-rent date are flagged as due back each night. With
the Equipment & compliance licence, rentals that cost money while idle are called out, so they go back before they eat
into margin. Return moves are created for the dispatch board, so returns get on a truck.
What you can do with it
- Track rental agreements and on-rent days
- Post rental charges to the job
- Find returns due and idle rentals

Common questions
Does ControlBoard warn us about idle rentals?
Yes. With the Equipment & compliance licence, ControlBoard lists rentals that are on rent and costing money while
idle. Rentals past their expected off-rent date move to return due each night, so nothing sits on site and keeps
billing unnoticed.
How are rental charges posted to the job?
Hire builds up from the agreement day by day, so it is never typed in. Other costs, such as damage, fuel or a
re-rent, are posted as a charge on the agreement. An agreement can also draw against a purchase commitment.
Can we rent stock like barricades by quantity?
Yes. A rental agreement can cover a quantity of stock at a rate per unit, such as forty barricades at a weekly
rate. A machine is always one per agreement. ControlBoard plans the hire total from the quantity, rate and dates.
