Scheduling

How does ControlBoard® organize a company into divisions?

ControlBoard lets a company split each subsidiary into divisions that match how it runs, such as by trade, region or market. Divisions carry their own time policies where they differ, for the time entry form, punch rules, drive time and overtime, and otherwise follow what the subsidiary or the company sets. That means one company can run divisions with different time rules side by side, each paid the way it should be. Divisions can be turned off without losing their history, and loaded from a spreadsheet. Only administrators and accounting change a division’s policies; managers see them read-only.

Common questions

Can each division follow its own overtime and punch rules?
Yes. A division can pick its own time entry form, punch rules, drive time and overtime policy. Any it leaves alone follow the subsidiary or the company, so rules are set once at the right level and inherited below.
How do divisions relate to subsidiaries?
In ControlBoard divisions are optional parts of a subsidiary. A company creates its subsidiaries first, then adds divisions under them. A division stays with the subsidiary it was created in.
Can we import our divisions?
Yes. ControlBoard gives you an empty template or your current divisions as a spreadsheet. Fill it in and load it back to add or change many divisions at once, with no retyping.
