Dispatch and the field

How does ControlBoard® plan equipment and material moves to the jobsite?

ControlBoard’s dispatch board plans every move that gets equipment and material where it needs to be by a deadline. Moves are grouped into trips with a driver, a rig and ordered stops, including fuel, inspection and supplier pickups, and the driver and rig are booked on the schedule for the day. A trip stays a draft until it is published to the driver. Each pickup, drop-off and task is marked done as it happens, so the office knows where things stand. When GPS shows a machine has moved, ControlBoard offers to record the move, keeping equipment locations true without extra calls.

Common questions

Can we schedule equipment deliveries with a deadline?
Yes. Each move in ControlBoard says what goes where and when it is needed by, for equipment from inventory, material or an item from a supplier. The board shows the day’s deadlines and the moves with none, so late deliveries are seen before they happen.
Can a trip include fuel stops and inspections?
Yes. A ControlBoard trip carries its moves and any other stops in order, such as a fuel stop or a permit errand. Each stop can hold tasks like fueling or an inspection, and each task is marked done on its own.
Does GPS update where our equipment is?
When GPS shows a machine has moved, ControlBoard lists it for the office to confirm or dismiss. A confirmed move or drop-off is recorded, so the record of where each machine sits stays accurate without a phone call to the field.
