Scheduling

How does ControlBoard® let us add our own fields to jobs and resources?

ControlBoard lets administrators and managers add the company’s own fields to its records, such as jobs, resources, time entries and daily logs. A custom field behaves like one ControlBoard ships with. It shows on the office forms, in ControlBoard Field or both. It can be required or offered as a filter, and the server checks every value. Numbers, dates and pick lists carry their own limits and choices. Fields can be turned off without losing the values already entered. The result is a system that tracks what your business tracks, without a separate spreadsheet on the side.

What you can do with it

  • Add your own fields to jobs and resources
  • Set limits, choices and where each field shows
  • Turn a field off when you no longer need it

Used by: administrators, managers

Common questions

Can custom fields show on the phone app?
Yes. Each custom field can show on the office forms, in ControlBoard Field, or both. Help text guides people as they fill it in, and pick lists, numbers and dates carry their own limits, so field entries come in clean.
Can we filter lists by our own fields?
Yes. A custom field can be offered as a filter, so lists of jobs, resources and other records narrow by it like any built-in value. Companies use this to sort work by the categories that matter to them.
What happens to entered values if we stop using a field?
Turn the field off and ControlBoard keeps every value already entered. Deleting a field removes its value from every record, and ControlBoard says how many records hold a value before you confirm.
