Project management
How does ControlBoard® keep one directory of everyone we work with?
ControlBoard keeps one directory of people: labor on the schedule, office users and outside contacts such as owners’
reps, architects and inspectors. Each person can be put on jobs with a role for that job only, so the job’s contact
list is always at hand without changing anyone’s title. Anyone in the directory can be messaged in a step, and when
you write from a job, the people on site and the job’s contacts come first. Details for scheduled people and users
come from their own records, so there is one email and phone per person and no stale copies.
What you can do with it
- Keep one directory of everyone you work with
- Put contacts on jobs
- Message a contact by text or email

Common questions
Can we keep outside contacts beside our own labor?
Yes. ControlBoard’s directory holds people on the schedule, office users and outside people together. You can
narrow it to outside contacts, staff and vendors, or users, and search by job, status, division or subsidiary.
Can a contact have a different role on each job?
Yes. A person’s role is set per job, such as owner’s rep on one job and inspector on another, and their title does
not change. Job contacts are also offered first when you write a message from that job, or work on its RFIs and
submittals.
Which email and phone does ControlBoard use for a person?
For someone on the schedule, ControlBoard uses the email and phone on their schedule record. For anyone else, it
uses their user or contact details. A person with no phone number gets no text messages.
