Project management
How does ControlBoard® keep track of the customers our jobs are for?
ControlBoard keeps one list of the companies your jobs are for: job owners, customers and clients. Each company holds
its own documents, filed in folders, and those documents appear on every job for that company, so a master agreement
or insurance certificate is filed once and found everywhere. The list can be searched and filtered on any fields your
company keeps on customers. Companies can be added by hand or loaded from a spreadsheet with a preview before anything
changes. A company that a job still uses cannot be deleted, which keeps job records whole.
What you can do with it

Common questions
Can we store customer documents once for all their jobs?
Yes. In ControlBoard each company keeps its documents in folders, and they appear on every job for that company. A
customer’s contract terms, insurance or site rules are filed once and found by everyone working on that customer’s
jobs.
Can we import our customer list?
Yes. ControlBoard gives you the current list or an empty template as a spreadsheet. Fill it in, upload it, and
check the preview before applying it. Nothing changes until you apply the import.
What is the difference between a company and a subsidiary?
In ControlBoard a company is who a job is for: the owner, customer or client. Your own organization’s units are
subsidiaries, set up separately. Keeping the two apart means customer records never mix with your own business
structure.
