Dispatch and the field

How does ControlBoard® send schedule texts and emails from our company?

ControlBoard sends labor and equipment dispatch messages by text, email or both, from your company’s own name and number. Email can go through ControlBoard, through your own mail server, or from your own Gmail or Microsoft 365 mailbox, and ControlBoard never reads that mailbox. You write the schedule message once, with options such as a map link to the jobsite or a confirmation link, and keep variants for different kinds of work. Replies are filed on the right conversation, and every message can be copied to an archive mailbox. Different offices or subsidiaries can send from their own sender details.

What you can do with it

  • Send schedule texts and emails as your company
  • Send through your own mail server, Gmail or Microsoft 365

Common questions

Can schedule emails come from our own Gmail or Microsoft 365 mailbox?
Yes. ControlBoard can send a sender group’s email from your own Gmail or Microsoft 365 mailbox, or through your own mail server. The mailbox becomes the From address and receives the replies. ControlBoard sends from it but never reads it.
What happens when someone replies to a schedule text?
ControlBoard files the reply on the conversation it answers. When it cannot tell, it looks at who has been texting the person recently and files the reply there if the pattern is clear. Otherwise the reply lands in the person’s own conversation, so nothing is lost.
How do texts work on the QuickBooks edition?
Texting on the QuickBooks edition is prepaid, and a new workspace starts with 500 texts. Packs top up on their own unless you turn that off. When texts run out, ControlBoard reaches each person by email or in-app notice instead, so no message is dropped.
