Dispatch and the field

How does ControlBoard® send group messages to the field and the office?

ControlBoard channels are named conversations with a member list, so a message reaches exactly the people who need it and nobody else. A superintendent can post once to a channel and every member gets it in the app, with a push to their phone. Each person can also choose to get copies by email, text or both. Messages carry job documents and forms already in ControlBoard, or new uploads, so the field gets the drawing or the permit with the instruction. Administrators and managers set up and change channels; channels are never deleted, so the conversation history stays on record.

What you can do with it

  • Message a group of field and office people at once
  • Attach documents and forms to a post
  • Choose how each person gets copies

Common questions

Can we send a message to a whole group at once?
Yes. Post to a ControlBoard channel and every member gets it, in the app and on their phone. A channel can also be picked when writing a new message, in place of choosing people one by one. Only members read a channel and are reached by it.
Can a message include job documents or forms?
Yes. A ControlBoard message can carry new uploads, documents already filed on a job, resource or company, and forms to fill in. Email carries the attachments, and a text carries pictures when the phone network allows it.
Can people choose to get messages by email or text?
Yes. Every message arrives in ControlBoard with a push to the person’s phone. Each person can also ask for a copy by email, by text message or both, sent to the address and mobile number on their record.
